tosca

by chrisbjchrisbj 27 Feb 2012 17:34

A local, porous sandstone created from the compacted fossilised sand dunes which form the rocky coast of Jávea's bay. The tosca was excavated as a building material until the 1960s and cuts made by stonemasons can still be seen, especially along Montañar I, between the Parador and the Port.
